He is the named expert for the APHA WOAH reference lab for mammalian tuberculosis. Jason lectures in veterinary diagnostic methods at the Royal Veterinary College and also carries out assessments of diagnostic test validation data as part of the test validation team at APHA which grants approval to tests prior to adoption as official UK veterinary laboratory tests.

Dr. Marenzoni received her veterinary degree from University of Perugia, Italy, in 2000, discussing the thesis “Anatomic, histopathological and ultrastructural observations in pigs with Postweaning Multisystemic Wasting Syndrome (PMWS)”. She carried out a PhD in Infectious diseases of equines, with the thesis: “Rhodococcus equi: disease and serological survey in the horse”. In 2008 she specialized in Inspection of Food of Animal Origin (University of Perugia), with the thesis entitled: “Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis infections in slaughtered animals”. Subsequently, she deepened the epidemiology of infectious diseases of animals, concluding a master in Epidemiology and statistics at the Catholic University of Rome, Italy (2011) and in 2022 she obtained a second level Master’s degree in “Management of health and social-health services”, with the thesis entitled “Development of a thesis with professional impact in the field of public veterinary medicine” (University of Parma). In 2021 she obtained the De Facto Diploma from the European College of Veterinary Microbiology.
From 2007 until today she is researcher and lecturer of different courses related to epidemiology and infectious diseases of animals (Veterinary Epidemiology, Infectious diseases of small animals, Hygiene and prophylaxis of animal farms) in various courses of veterinary medicine and science of animal production at the University of Perugia. She regularly performs diagnostic activity on animal infectious diseases, especially dogs, cats, equines, and testudo at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Perugia. Main topics of research are molecular biology and virology applied in the veterinary diagnostic, epidemiology of infectious diseases, biosafety, and One Health.
She has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications.
Passionate about biology from an early age, particularly aquatic animals, Nicolas Keck obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1998 (specialization in aquaculture), then completed this training with a Master degree in Epidemiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Grenoble and several certificates in biological and medical sciences.
He has spent most of his career in French veterinary public health laboratories, first in technical positions and gradually evolving towards management positions. He is vice-president of Adilva (french association of executives of public veterinary laboratories).
Apart from managing the laboratory, he works on a variety of scientific subjects, mainly related to animal health and food safety. His preferred field is the epidemiology and diagnosis of bacterial infections, including mycobacterial infections and antibiotic resistance.
From 2009, he was able to enhance his professional expertise by carrying out short-term missions in several countries (Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia) in the field of laboratory management and antibiotic resistance surveillance (France Vétérinaire International, Food and Agriculture Organization).
Past-President: Marialaura Corrente, DVM, Associate professor of Infectious diseases at the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Bari (Italy).
After the graduation she got a Diploma in “Prophylaxis in Infectious diseases of animals” from the School for the Scientific Research at the Zooprohylactic Institute of Lombardia and Emilia, in 1992. Between 1993 and 2007 she worked in the Bacteriology laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bari. Since 2007 she is responsible for the Bacteriology Unit. She is involved in education of students as a teacher of: i) Microbiology and Biosafety at the Course of Veterinary Medicine; ii) Prophylaxis of Infectious Diseases at the Course of Animal Sciences, and postgraduate education. Her research activity is focused on drug-resistant bacteria (with particular emphasis on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in human and animal infections, Staphylococcus pseudintermedius in dogs, and Extended beta-lactamases producers isolates from wild animals), on micoplasmoses, bacterial zoonoses (Brucellosis, salmonellosis) and viruses with zoonotic potential (rotavirus, calicivirus). She has been/is responsible for several National and International Research Projects and referee for peer-reviewed journals. She is happy to share her knowledge and experiences with EALVD members, contributing to the improvement of activities.
